EAT + DRINK : 5 SPOTS TO HIT
Cafe Pasqual : Yes, Cafe Pasqual may be a bit "touristy" but the breakfast was top-notch. Located in a tiny corner space, Cafe Pasqual rocked the authentic New Mexico decor and serves up tasty dishes like a breakfast quesadilla, an epic breakfast burrito, and griddled polenta with chorizo and red chile. This spot is a definite must if you are a breakfast lover.
Coyote Cantina : Stopped in for a tequila + lime on the rocks, and stayed for the vibes. Overlooking the pleasant adobe rooftops, the cantina was a great first stop on my Santa Fe adventure!
Eloisa : Lovely dinner spot with fabulous and authentic New Mexico dishes. Nominated for James Beard's best new restaurant in 2016, Eloisa did not disappoint. We began our meal with a guacamole layer cake with crisp tortilla chips (can't go wrong there...) followed by green poblano chile tortilla soup! Up next were the brisket enchiladas and they did not disappoint. If you are looking for a great dinner spot in downtown Santa Fe, stop in at Eloisa!
Gruet Tasting Room : I have said over and over again that my visit to the Gruet Tasting room in the St. Francis hotel was one of my favorite days...like of life. Located in the picturesque and historic St. Francis hotel, this lovely little tasting room was the epitome of pleasant. We sat out back in the courtyard, where the weather was 65 and sunny with a light breeze. We sampled the sparkling flight and nibbled on tasty cheeses and fruits. After enjoying the patio and taking notes on our favorite bubbles, we purchased a bottle of Gruet rose to bring back to Colorado!
Radish & Rye : In terms of dinner spots, Radish & Rye took home the prize for my favorite. This cozy spot hit all of the important notes for me, good drinks, good atmosphere and DELICIOUS food. We started off the meal with some simple farm greens, sweet corn fritters followed by a butcher steak with a chimichuri sauce. And obviously there was a side of duck fat fingerlings involved...I mean DUH. To satisfy the sweet tooth we went for the Kentucky butter cake with fresh berries and chantilly cream. Overall fantastic meal and the coziest atmosphere!
