These sugar cookies are a great recipe for any baker who isn’t super confident in the kitchen because they were so simple and so tasty! I was actually out of vanilla extract so I improvised big time and used almond extract and real maple syrup instead and they were just as tasty. I originally found this recipe on A Latte Food and edited it to work with the ingredients I had. Happy baking!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper or a baking mat.
Cream butter and sugar until light + fluffy in an electric mixer.
Add in the egg and the extracts.
Add in your dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
Roll your dough into 1 inch balls and dip into granulated sugar.
Bake for 9-11 minutes (10.5 worked well for me)
Cool on a cooling rack and enjoy!
