I LOVED American Grind in Avanti, so I was beyond thrilled to hear they opened their own spot in Washington Park. They invited me out to their “Made The Right Way” event to hear about the 50/50 burger and all of the locally sourced amazing ingredients. Right off the bat, I adored the space, awesome light, and great vibes in the neighborhood. I started with a tasty cocktail from the bar, The Bae Breeze, and waited to hear from the awesome chef.
Chef talked to us about the importance of local and fresh ingredients and supporting local farmers. Everything is made in house except for the buns and ice cream. The buns come from Rosenbergs, and we all know how yummy Rosenbergs is. American Grind is also placing focus on more sustainable options like the veggie burger and the 50/50 burger made of half mushroom and half beef. I was able to sample some seriously tasty dishes that I highly recommend! The 1/4 lb patties come “all the way” with Bibb lettuce, tomato (seasonal), onion, house pickle, house-made ketchup and mustard, and a sesame challah bun.
